Grand Final – Day 3

Mt Clear won its first 2nd XI premiership in 17 years on day three of the grand final.In the 1sts a see-sawing day saw things delicately place at the close of play. Mt Clear made 101 with Cartledge (22), Nicholson (21no) and Yates (18) the main contributors. Brown Hill lost a couple of early wickets but Shane Harwood made 73 to get the 199 run target in sight. Mt Clear struck late with 2 wickets in the final overs to leave the equation at 4 wickets remaining with 49 runs to defend.

the 2nds lost their last 5 wickets for 35 runs but were able to defend their 214 run lead comfortably. Ash George finished with 4 wickets and Cam Snowden 3 to bowl East Ballarat out for 124 and win the game by 90 runs. Congratulations to Vanders and the boys.

The 3rds batted out day three to build a lead of 208 with three wickets in hand. Peter Tuddenham is unbeaten on 56 with Liam Carter at the crease. Garry Cook made 39 and Rich Matters 23.
