PROFILE:
The 2007/2008 season was Matt's coming of age. He turned himself into a reliable hard hitting middle order batsmen in the 2nd XI. He has a genuine love for the pull shot and spin bowling and has sent many balls into the tennis courts at Mount Clear and into the surrounding buildings at St Pats. No scorecard of Matt's would be complete without a scattering of 4's and 6's. Matt made his 1st XI debut this season against North Ballarat and got off the mark with a six in typically Wardy fashion. His wicket keeping over the last 2 seasons has improved at the same rate as his batting and Matt seems to be the likely successor to Paull Jeffrey behind the stumps in the 1st XI. Matt was part of the victorious 20/20 team that took out the Central Highland's Cricket Willow Cup last year.
