PROFILE:
Leith made his senior debut as a 12 year old, playing in the 3rd XI scoring 2 runs and taking 1 for 24 off 2 overs. He played a big part in the Under 14 premiership team of season 1998/1999. Leith, along with Lincoln Blake, were a part of the most formidable, and quiet honestly, tallest junior bowling attacks the Mount Clear Cricket Club has produced taking 60 out of 133 wickets for the season. (Lincoln 38 & Leith 22).

Leith developed into a handy all-rounder in the next few years, constantly selected in junior representative teams and was the joint 5th XI Best and Fairest winner in 1999/2000 with fellow Under 16 teammate Steve Nicholson. Leith spent the next few seasons floating between the lower grades making handy contributions with both bat and ball, but without any major dominate performances with either. Last season was by far Leith's best performance on the field for the Mounties. He dominated the 2nd XI batting in the early part of the season and was deservedly rewarded with promotion to the 1st XI, where he stayed for the rest of the season.

Leith's batting in the 2nd innings of the 2007/08 1st XI Grand Final will long be remembered at Mount Clear. He shared in a 98 run 8th wicket partnership with Steve Nicholson that turned the momentum back in our favour. What surprised everyone was not the runs he made, albeit most of them scored between 1st & 2nd slip, but the way he valued his wicket and the determination he showed against the hostile Naps bowlers. Not too many people would have guessed that Leith would end up with a 1st premiership medallion, but he has the medal and tattoo to prove it!
