PROFILE:
Steve has been around since the early 1990's and followed his father Graeme and brothers Tim and Andrew to the club. Season 2000/2001 was a busy one for Nicho: He started the season as a left arm swing bowler but changed to off spin on the advice of coach Paull Jeffrey, capturing 7 wickets in the First XI that season. He was a part of the First XI premiership team as a 16 year old and played in 6 grades (1st, 2nd 3rd Div 2, Div 3 Under 16) that season which must be some sort of record.

His offies have copped some stick early on, but he is now seen as part of the Firxt XI front line spin attack with captain Darren Fletcher. Steve's career defining moment came in last year's 1st XI Grand Final when he batted for most of the 3rd day holding up the Napoleons/Sebastopol bowlers from running through the Mounties tail end. He was left not out on 84 - just short of his first century, sharing a long partnership with good mate Leith Pellisier that swung the momentum back in our favour, helping to set up one of the club's greatest ever wins.

Nicho is unfortunately responsible for the First XI warm ups each week and takes his inspiration from games he learns as a Primary School teacher, much to his team-mates bemusement. Described by former housemate Paul McKee as "the messiest human being on the face of the earth", Nicho is currently chasing down John Woodhead's record of 1000 self claimed wickets in the nets.
