The inaugural Mounties Junior Super 8’s is coming on Saturday 29 February 2020. Following the conclusion of the seniors game on Mt Clear Oval 1, a series of six grounds will be set up across the oval allowing six continuous games under lights.
Each game will consist of 8 overs of action with 14 teams made up of players from across our junior grades. Each team will be coached by our U/17 super coaches.
In the as twelve teams play it out, two teams will enjoy a rest plus the music coming from a sound system set up in the centre of the field. There will be food and drinks set up near the changerooms/clubrooms.
We are after senior volunteers to assist with running games and umpiring. If you are able to assist, please contact Steve Young on 0439 658 219. A roster will be set up in the changerooms.
The first teams to be announced are the following:
Luigi's Team (Super Coach Lachlan Humphrey): First team to enter the Super 8's competition. Strong team jam packed with talent. Keep an eye out for Sara Kennedy and little Master Blaster Nate Fitzpatrick to get amongst the runs!
Annihilators (Super Coach Megan O'Beirne): the Annihilators are out to play hard and have recruited well with the key listing of Gracie Fletcher (best cricketer in that family!) and the quiet but talented Paddy Snowden. Big hitting Archie Staley will be fabulous to watch!
Woofers (Super Coach Darcy Emmerson): The Woofers are in, with the super coach Darcy Emmerson keeping a mystery young gun up his sleeve. Grace Barr and Riley Haymes are in great form and will be the ones to look out for.
