The 2019/20 season is almost upon us! Mt Clear CC welcomes all our cricketing juniors and families, new and returning, to the new season.

With plenty of activity and changes during the off season, our 2019/20 season is shaping up to be super exciting and jam packed full of cricket and family events. This season Mountie has a full pathway of cricket on offer for juniors who want to learn the game, develop their skills and play competitive and non-competitive cricket.

Our expanded program (please see further details below) includes Junior and Master Blasters, Stage 1 Girls and Boys, Stage 2 Girls and U/13, U/15 and U/17 teams. Mountie is also exploring with AAA Sports (Kellie Tait) on how to link in with All Abilities cricket after Christmas.

Our exciting pathway provides connection into Ballarat’s junior representative cricket and to Mt Clear Senior cricket and beyond.

Mountie is blessed with a terrific team of junior coaches who coach, mentor and guide all our junior players to have fun, learn the game and develop their skills. PLAY THE GAME, SCORE RUNS, TAKE WICKETS and CATCHES, HAVE FUN and ENJOY THE MOMENT!

To become a Mountie, register at Play Cricket:

In tandem with the Mt Clear Junior TeamApp we hope you can stay informed at all times. Our coaches and Junior Co-ordinator can also be contacted by phone or email (MountieJuniorCricket@gmail.com) if you have any queries or need more information.

Welcome! and looking forward to seeing you very soon.

This season there will be no shortage of cricket for all our junior Mounties. Mt Clear are very pleased to offer cricket across all junior grades including a brand new Stage 1 Boys grade that completes the cricket pathway outlined by Cricket Australia for all junior players (refer below).

Helping Our Coaches - Junior Team Assistants

Mountie has a wonderful history of parents/friends supporting our coaches particularly on Game Day. This season each coach will be seeking assistance in the form of a Team Manager and Team Scorer. These roles will allow the coaches to continue to work with players during the match.

The Junior coaching group are finalising simple Role Cards to ‘Myth Bust’ this involvement. These roles are designed to be fun and easy. The Role Cards will be circulated with the next newsletter – and remember you can share a role with someone else.

  • Team Manager: u17, u15, u13, Stage 2 Girls, Stage 1 Girls, Stage 1 Boys (potentially multiple teams)
  • Team Scorer: u17, u15, u13, Stage 2 Girls, Stage 1 Girls, Stage 1 Boys (potentially multiple teams)

Please give your Coach or Junior Co-ordinator a call for more information or to take on a role. Grateful for your help!

Mountie Junior Committee

The Mountie Junior Committee is again seeking interest from parents and friends for the 2019/20 season. The purpose of the Committee is to help shape our Junior Cricket program through good decision making. This comes from involving people who are part of our Club and have an interest in continuously improving cricket opportunities for our kids.

Our Committee is very much ‘can do’. The committee comprises all coaches, Junior Co-ordinator and three formal positions with additional membership most welcome. These roles are designed to be very rewarding and have a low volume of work.

Role Cards being finalised and will be circulated with the next newsletter.

  • Junior Treasurer: work in conjunction with Club Treasurer for junior fees (all online), umpire payments and junior fundraising.
  • Junior Social Events: creative ideas and co-ordination of Junior events and activities.
  • Junior Media: creative ideas and co-ordination of Junior media (TeamApp, Web, Facebook etc).

These roles come with every support. Please contact Steve Young (0439 658219) if you would like more info or are interested in a role.
